Nashville Escorts: Controversial Alley Proposal Meets Dead End
21 07 2010Bradley was at the council meeting to publicly protest Baker’s proposal, which called for closing entirely an alleyway perpendicular to 44th Avenue North, near Indiana Avenue, in the West Nashville neighborhood known as The Nations. Secondarily, the councilman’s proposal called for closing off a small section of 43rd Avenue North.
An adjoining half-block piece of vacant property became a sticking point of sorts. Opponents like Bradley grew concerned the councilman would then try and shift the zoning of that land from its current residential to industrial: a claim the councilman vehemently denies.
“The deeper we dig the more that we find that the intentions are not just to close an alley, but the intention is to continue industrial throughout that part of the neighborhood,” Rick Bradley told NewsChannel 5. “And we’re fundamentally opposed to that.”
Councilman Baker insisted his motive is simple: to cleanup that part of his district, and to stop illegal activities like prostitution.
