Police Busting Johns In Reverse Prostitution Sting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Police have busted more than a dozen men in East Nashville for soliciting sex from an undercover officer on Dickerson Pike. 
Police are actually arresting Johns in a reverse prostitution sting. For the past two days, an undercover officer has been posing as a prostitute in a hotel near Shwab Elementary School. 
Officers said the sting has been extremely successful, but officers still have to be cautious. They said the high number of arrests proves operations like this are essential. 
“We’re going to do it a bunch – different days, different times, all hours of the day and night. We’ll make it as random and we’ll be out a lot,” said Chris Bryant with the Metro Nashville Police Department. 
Police said one of the Johns arrested in the two day sting was a teacher at Joelton Middle School. Officers said DeJuan Parker was arrested for patronizing prostitution.

ALAMO – Crockett County Schools Superintendent Harold “Stan” Black is on an indefinite leave of absence after police said he met a female police officer posing as a prostitute at a Nashville motel room and paid her $200.
Black, 65, of Alamo, was issued a misdemeanor citation Wednesday on a charge of patronizing prostitution and is scheduled to make a booking appearance March 11, Metropolitan Nashville Police Department spokesman Don Aaron said Friday.
Metro police detectives have charged 26 men with patronizing prostitution since Feb. 11 in four separate reverse prostitution stings, according to the police department Web site.

Black set up a meeting at a motel near the Nashville airport and met the police officer at a specific room in the motel, Aaron said. Black came into the room and talked to the officer posing as a prostitute before paying her $200, he said.

Many folks have written off this move for the Crew due to a below-average strikeout rate of 6.47 K/9 in Triple-A last season.  While those numbers may be nothing to write home about, he balanced that nicely with a low 2.18 BB/9 walk rate — good for a 2.97 K/BB ratio.  Strikeout rates should never be looked at in a vacuum, as even a modest strikeout rate in the 5-6 range can be effective if the walks are low enough and the young man is a groundball pitcher — it is unclear whether or not Estrada can induce groundballs consistently in the big leagues, though.
The point of this post is not to pimp Marco Estrada as the future savior of the Brewers’ starting rotation, nor is it even to guarantee Estrada will be a #3 starter in the years to come.  Marco Estrada does have a fine chance, however, to stick as a #4 or #5 starter either in 2011 or perhaps even later in 2010, depending on injuries and ineffectiveness, of course.

Also disconcerting is that the Post published that quote with a straight face. If the paper had bothered to assign someone to cover the burgeoning Tea Party movement, its editors would have known that Robertson doesn’t actually represent anyone, except maybe himself. Nor is this the first time Robertson has complained to a gullible reporter that the GOP is ignoring him. But the Post should have known that Michael Steele, a black man, isn’t likely to return the calls of a guy who just last week sent out a fundraising appeal featuring a photo of Obama dressed as a pimp.
