The Admiral Theatre Gentlemen’s Club is supporting the Tea Party Movement on May 12 by holding a Sarah Palin lookalike contest during her visit to Chicago. A portion of the proceeds from the party will be donated to the Tea Party Campaign and an offer to be a celebrity judge has been extended to Sarah Palin, although no response has been received.
We can’t imagine Sarah Palin would make an appearance, as she will be busy speaking at a GOP fundraiser. So Sarah Palin is raising funds and Sarah Palin lookalikes are raising … other things across town.
We wonder what Tina Fey is up to on May 12? Perhaps she should swing through Chicago to compete. Or better yet, she should be the celebrity judge! DO IT, TINA FEY!

Robertson recently visited Atlanta’s Metro State prison, a maximum-security facility for women and told her story, encouraging inmates to leave their mistakes behind and build toward a future outside the concrete walls and barbed wire.
“This can be the ending and the beginning,” she told a gym filled with women in white and brown uniforms. “This can be your  last trip here. You start [by] setting up an exit plan.”
Robertson came to Atlanta as part of a multi-city prison tour sponsored by Magdalene Inc., a Nashville-based nonprofit that works with women who have survived violence, prostitution and addiction. The nonprofit, which receives no state or federal funding, operates six houses in Tennessee that provide free housing for women for two years. It also runs Thistle Farms, which makes bath, body and home products.

Gentleman’s club Deja Vu is putting up a wall – a six-foot parapet wall on all sides of its prominent building to be exact. Boom Sign and Lighting has the $16,000 contract for the club at 12th and Demonbreun. The application indicates new signage will be addressed in a future permit.

Raise your hand if you thought Carrie Underwood was going to have a Janet Jackson moment at the Academy of Country Music Awards last night. She truly lived up her to Entertainer of the Year award (the first female to take that award home twice). Also entertaining, but in a not-so-good away: Broadway-star-turned-country-singer Laura Bell Bundy, who really turned up the cheese with her “Giddy On Up,” complete with a stripper-cowpoke get-up. (My 8-year-old was playing with Legos in the corner of the den, looked up and pronounced, “Whore.” Turns out he said “Poor.” I need to get my ears checked. But still.)

“Unless it’s billed as a campaign event, or campaign donations are solicited, or there’s a concerted program of endorsements for candidates based on party affiliation, I don’t think that they ran into any issues.”
However, this isn’t the only unseemly spending by the GOP brought to light of late. In late March, a GOP staffer was fired after a nearly $2,000 visit to a strip club.
