… United States censors certain information (e.g., child ***********) that could be considered free speech.”"France and Germany ban Nazi imagery on the Internet, he said, and no one is calling on Microsoft, Google, or Yahoo to stop operating in those markets. “Dear Steve Ballmer. You actually think that China censoring its entire population from (for example) criticizing their government and blocking sites like Facebook and Twitter so people can’t, for example, criticize their government is the same thing as the US blocking child ****? Or Germany and France blocking Nazi imagery? You really think this?? You, sir, are a complete and unadulterated fool. Dear Paul, the fact that you actually think that these were “good points” makes you a bigger fool.

Victim Thought Suspect Was Taking Her To Miami

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Metro police arrested a man and a woman Thursday on charges of promoting prostitution.
Officers said Donnell Minor coerced a 22-year-old woman into prostituting herself.
The victim told police Minor promised to take her to Miami and paid her sister $150 to watch the victim’s two young children.
Instead of Miami, the victim said Minor took her to a Harding Place motel and told her that she worked for him.
…
Minor drove the women there in response to a police-generated telephone call for prostitution services.
Minor and Ferdinand were then charged with promoting prostitution.

It’s one of the things that sets the Grammys apart. Some other awards ceremonies have nominations guidelines that restrict potential entries to songs and artists that made the biggest commercial impact. The Grammy process covers a wider range of genres than any other music awards and allows a wider array of nominees. Voters are also required to have been involved in the creative process in some way, and all those factors work together to allows songs that might not fit typically into the mainstream to earn recognition.
Such was the case for Jamey Johnson’s “High Cost Of Living,” up for Best Male Country Vocal and for Best Country Song. References to three-day booze fests, smoking pot in the church parking lot, cocaine and prostitutes pretty much guaranteed it wouldn’t make too many radio playlists, even though it works as a sort of modern-day morality play in which the main character eventually sees the error in his ways. It still made No. 2 on the Nashville Scene’s Country Music Critics Poll of the top singles of 2009. And clearly Grammy voters loved it.

Ms. Dixon urged members of Lo-Salem, whose church is near an outdoor basketball facility, to go out and get to know the young people who shoot hoops during the warm months. They could take them bottled water, she said. They should stay and talk to the young people, she said. If church members are filled with Jesus Christ, she said, that essence ”will come out of your pores” to the young people, Ms. Dixon said.
”Dont expect sinners to knock down your [church] doors,” she said. ”Jesus said, Go and make disciples.
”Are we willing to step out of our pulpits and out of our pews and make a real and practical difference in the lives of the gang bangers across the street, the alcoholic next door, and the prostitute we drive by, in order to draw them to Christ, teach them how to use their skills to make legal money and show them how to be real fathers and real mothers to their children?”

Almost 47 years have passed since Martin Luther King, Jr. made his famous “I have a dream” speech. The United states and the world have made major strides since that time, but human trafficking still has millions enslaved today.
Chair of the Flathead Valley Martin Luther King Day Community Celebration Reverend Darryl Kistler says, “27 million is almost a number that is beyond anything we can think about. That would be taking every person in Montana and multiplying us by 27 and that’s how many people are involved or enslaved by human trafficking.”
According to the U.S. State Department, trafficking exists in every single U.S. state and around the globe. Between 14,500 and 17,500 people are brought to the U.S. every single year under false pretences. Many are forced into prostitution, manual labor, and other services.

RALPH BAILEY: Martin Luther King’s courage remains unmatched

It is said that prostitutes and old buildings gain respectability after a period of time but it seems living legends become posthumous targets of ridicule and scrutiny and no one’s character has suffered more than that of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., arguably the most courageous revolutionary this republic has ever seen.
While some of my radio brethren question King’s achievements, insisting we need no national holiday for the fallen minister, King’s undying spirit, commitment to nonviolence and unwavering drive for equal rights in the face of certain assassination cannot be surpassed.
King catapulted to national prominence in the mid-1950s after becoming president of the Montgomery Improvement Association, a group of ministers, church goers and civil rights seekers that cooked up the Rosa Parks-spurred Montgomery Bus Boycott.

I understand that Big Orange feelings are bruised as never before. I understand it was a crappy thing that Kiffin did, especially to his recruits. But I refuse to get bent out of shape about it because Tennessee and its big-time brethren have only themselves to blame.
They created this monster and they keep feeding it. Ticket prices and salaries and new facilities keep getting bigger, even when the rest of the economy is in the dumper. If the university presidents had any backbone, they could stop the insanity. Instead, they keep feeding it.
So Lane Kiffin and Tennessee deserved each other. Both are a couple of prostitutes on the make. And, sadly, they are the rule and not the exception. Morality in big-time college sports is as dead as the leather helmet.

King would not be proud that African-Americans have abandoned the “it takes a village” approach to raising all the kids in the neighborhood and that now we are more fixated on keeping up with the Joneses and buying houses too big and cars too gaudy, making us easy marks for the big banks.
And he would not be proud that many of our women and men spend as much as $3,000 to have other people’s hair — and sometimes fake hair — affixed to their heads.
King would not be too proud that Democrats and Republicans continue to bicker over superficial issues, such as whether Obama has a “Negro dialect,” but not work jointly to solve real problems, such as medical care, child care and a decent job for all Americans.
King would not be proud of those who call themselves ministers but are nothing more than pimps in the pulpit, and he would be ashamed that so-called men of the cloth such as Pat Robertson would pass judgment on a grief-stricken nation such as Haiti in its greatest hour of need.

Yelawolf: When I was younger, I really alienated anything that was “mainstream.” I didn’t care; I didn’t even give it an opportunity back then. I was so stubborn and all I really fucked with was underground music. If it was called underground, that was cool to me. Whether it was or not at the time, that’s what I was influenced by. I was still skating obviously and I got to write graffiti; the whole b-boy shit. I still surrounded myself with the culture at the same time.
WordofSouth.com: You’ve mentioned Three 6 Mafia a few times in this interview. It was in Nashville where you really became a hip-hop head. Now that you’re really doing this, is it a goal of yours to work with Three 6 Mafia? 8Ball & MJG as well?
Yelawolf: Yeah, I would love to work with those dudes. UGK, Three 6 Mafia, 8Ball & MJG, Skinny Pimp, Nappy Head & Gold Teeth – even like old classic underground Tennessee shit like Eric McAnally, Southside Hustler and so on. Obviously I would love to work with anybody who I was blown away by when I was younger. That’s for sure.
