Nashville Adult Entertainment: Populist Constitutionalism and the Tea Party *** The Discussion

8 02 2010

The Tea Party movement is not a one-issue (one-hit) wonder — like prohibition. Nor is it a bunch of political zombies mesmerized by some charismatic leader.
The Tea Party does not need a charismatic leader. It is, essentially, an ongoing educational process — that will be heard (one way or another) by tone deaf and constitutionally ignorant politicians. The Tea Party teaches a multitude of Americans what they are no longer (or “rarely,” I suppose I should write) taught in our public schools and universities: America was, from the beginning, intended to be a grand experiment in freedom and local and state control.
Take Nevada and Utah as instances. The states border each other. Yet one state endorses legalized gambling, prostitution, and easy access to liquor. Right next door, teetotaling Utah frowns on all of these “immoral” practices.

Nashville Adult Entertainment: Farah previews Obama-bashing, birtherism-centric Tea Party Convention speech

5 02 2010

by roland (7 hours and 18 minutes ago) 1   I’m confused. I thought the whole teabagger movement was born out of the presmise that the country is currently facing a crisis of Biblical proportions. Now he’s saying that Obama is making it all up to advance his own agenda? I’m not sure denying the nation’s problems is the most winning strategy at this point but, hey, if it makes them feel good, go for it. Reply Report Abuse
by eweston8542983 (6 hours and 55 minutes ago)     Ah good the lizardman contingent did show up. “Some say”, that they can be effective ideological shock troops for the “CAUSE”. Managers should check their teeth pior to deployment lest the enevitable chicken feathers cause offence. Reply Report Abuse
Others just say he’s a hypocrite, because it’s quite possibly the gayest mustache of all time. Not only that, here’s a picture Farah doesn’t want you to see of his previous career as a brothel owner in 1870s South Dakota:

Nashville Adult Entertainment: Disaster brings out worst as well as best

Deals are being done. The Haitian government appears to accept that the Baptists were naive rather than criminal.
It may be that the group’s members face trial in Haiti. It may be that they’re sent home to the States.
But that’s not really the point.
There is a wider issue here which is about the rights and welfare of children who have already experienced the sort of trauma most of us can’t even begin to imagine.
Disasters such as the Haitian earthquake attract those who are prepared to give up their time and often their money to help the victims in any way they can.
But they also attract people who have far less laudable aims.
Already there are stories of people-trafficking with gangs preying on the poor and dispossessed, mainly women and children, with a view to selling them into prostitution or domestic slavery.

It pains me to be nice enough to give her a C because I think Miley Cyrus is a total skank. But she didn’t look too skanky last night. This dress is tasteful with the long sleeves. She’s showing leg but she’s not showing boob and everything else. I think the color isn’t the greatest on her. I feel like it’s overpowering, like it’s swallowing her up. And boy would that headline make my day! “Miley Cyrus Eaten by Dress.”
Melody Thornton [Pussycat Dolls]: Grade B
I’m not really sure who this chick is so I Wikipedia’s her and found out she’s a Pussycat Doll. (Were they nominated for ANYTHING?) Whoever she is she looked good. I like this dress on her, it fits her well. The silver contrasts well with her skin tone. I love the up-do and even her bag and jewelry went well with the whole look. I think she should break free from her current job as a singing stripper and go more main stream.

Stephen Colbert appeared as the shows host and then kind of suddenly disappeared. One of the stage hands stated that Colbert had been arrested by Los Angeles police for trespassing.
It seems that Colbert was not really supposed to have been the host, but he apparently paid Kanye West, who was supposed to have hosted, $2,000 to stay away.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: Kanye West who has performed only once since his infamous Taylor Swift microphone grabbing incident took the $2,000 because he needs the money bad.]
The artist known as Pink sort of stole the show at L.A.’s Staple Center, when she sang the Beatles song “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” while suspended from the rafters.
The lights were dimmed as Pink wore no clothing at all except for three strategically placed stripper’s pasties.

Pink showed up with something to prove in a getup that included a biblical shroud and a bodysuit made of pantyhose and correction tape. The Philly girl offered live vocals while twirling furiously over head, soaked in water, upside down by her ankles, suspended in a stripper/circus sheet. All and all a low-key, understated performance.

You actually think that China censoring its entire population from (for example) criticizing their government and blocking sites like Facebook and Twitter so people can’t, for example, criticize their government is the same thing as the US blocking child ****? Or Germany and France blocking Nazi imagery? You really think this?? You, sir, are a complete and unadulterated fool. Dear Paul, the fact that you actually think that these were “good points” makes you a bigger fool.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Metro police arrested a man and a woman Thursday on charges of promoting prostitution.
Officers said Donnell Minor coerced a 22-year-old woman into prostituting herself.
The victim told police Minor promised to take her to Miami and paid her sister $150 to watch the victim’s two young children.
Instead of Miami, the victim said Minor took her to a Harding Place motel and told her that she worked for him.

Minor drove the women there in response to a police-generated telephone call for prostitution services.
Minor and Ferdinand were then charged with promoting prostitution.

Nashville Adult Entertainment: Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley Lead Grammy Crowd

It’s one of the things that sets the Grammys apart. Some other awards ceremonies have nominations guidelines that restrict potential entries to songs and artists that made the biggest commercial impact. The Grammy process covers a wider range of genres than any other music awards and allows a wider array of nominees. Voters are also required to have been involved in the creative process in some way, and all those factors work together to allows songs that might not fit typically into the mainstream to earn recognition.
Such was the case for Jamey Johnson’s “High Cost Of Living,” up for Best Male Country Vocal and for Best Country Song. References to three-day booze fests, smoking pot in the church parking lot, cocaine and prostitutes pretty much guaranteed it wouldn’t make too many radio playlists, even though it works as a sort of modern-day morality play in which the main character eventually sees the error in his ways. It still made No. 2 on the Nashville Scene’s Country Music Critics Poll of the top singles of 2009. And clearly Grammy voters loved it.
